I was unfortunately not able to watch all the Super 14 games this past weekend so thus can not name who I think were the best players but thanks to PlanetRugby.com , they have compiled their team of the work and would like to share it with you guys and you can comment on the picks that have been made. The team is as follows:
15 Stefan Terblanche (Sharks), 14 Digby Ioane (Reds), 13 Rob Horne (Waratahs), 12 Stirling Mortlock (Brumbies), 11 Henno Mentz (Lions), 10 Christian Lealiifano (Brumbies), 9 Rory Kockott (Sharks), 8 Ryan Kankowski (Sharks), 7 Juan Smith (Cheetahs), 6 Phil Waugh (Waratahs), 5 Anthony Boric (Blues), 4 Adriaan Fondse (Stormers), 3 Jannie du Plessis (Sharks), 2 John Smit (Sharks), 1 Heinke van der Merwe (Lions).
From me, I have not disagreements about Rob Horne at 13, the guy had a blinder of a game but I also gather Bobo was also impressive for the Stormers in that position. Heinke van der Merwe in the front row is an obvious choize, the guy destroyed the Cheetahs scrum!

Bobo for 13, the man is an animal and at the end of the season look for his name in the lineup for team of the tourney.
Kockett deserves to be on there with his performance,
don’t know about jannie du plessis tho

I totally disagree with the Fullback simply because Sam Norton Knight had a very good one for the Tahs. That boy had a fine game and was part of the reason why the Canes just could not penetrate for the first 60min. Digby Ioane is a shoe in and that boy might just be pushing for a spot in Dean’s permanant side. I did not watch the Brumbie game but I guess Lialifano gets the nod due to his last minute drop. I thought the fetcher of the weekend was Richie as Waugh was not as influential, at least not the game I watched. My forward of the weekend would definitely be Heinke Van Der Merwe. That boy can scrum!!!!!!!!!!! Felt sorry for my beloved Cheetahs. Will be interesting to see how Jannie fairs against him this weekend. I suspect that the Sharks’ front row will face it’s toughest test yet in Wepenar and Heinke.

i didnt watch the sharks game so cant comment on fullback, i think knights hashes at the end of the canes game cost him a place in the team of the week, they were schoolboy errors and didnt help the tahs at all with his sloppy kicking. rob horne completely carved the canes centres and i think deserves his spot in this team and will also push for a perminant place in Deans team if he continues to perform like he did on the weekend. i didnt see anything great from lialifano to suggest he shouldve got the nod at 10, from what ive read giteau shouldve got this spot as he apparently was the stand out player for the losing Force. again, i didnt see much of waugh on the weekend in the canes game to suggest he should be in this team, again from what ive read, richie played a big part in the saders win over the chiefs. so not sure where these guys are getting their picks from, anyways! heinke definitely deserves to be there from what ive read, and watch out sharks, but beast might be back and that boy has been dynamite in the front row, i reckon, even as a kiwi supporter, that the front row of smit, bismark and beast is pretty strong….
