My money is on the welsh retaining the title and doing the grand slam again. Oh and england suck.
What did everyone think of Nick Mallet’s huge blunder, putting Bergamasco at scrummy? It was comical. You know watching that game i thought that if Italy hadn’t given away those 3 trys then i think they might have one. Their defence was enormous at times.
But truth be told the six nations is boring rugby if we compare it to the southern hemisphere comps. Could it be the Elv’s or just the way they play rugby? Also why is it that every year the northern hemisphere’s style of play always takes a hammering but come the world cup, it is superbly a better way to play the game if you hope to win the cup? I find that weird, anyone care to air their views?

I liked the look of Ireland. I think the Ireland – Wales game is going to be a cracker! My belief is that northern hemisphere rugby is played a lot around the forwards and thus the difference with the South. We have much more entertaining rugby down here and I guys a lot of it could be because of the terrible weather conditions they play in up in the north. You can not run in that mud!

i think the french are the only northern team who can compete in world cups when its held in the southern hemisphere, england winning in 2003 was down to jonny, and its shown that he was the only thing in that team coz without him they’ve won a minimal % of games….
i liked the way wales played most of the game, bar their bias commentator and the fact that most of the penalties in their favour when the scots ‘didnt release’ was when the welsh were lying all over the ball….ireland v wales will be a corker….probably the game that determines the tournament winner as france seem unable to convert their great attacking form.
bergomasco at scrummie was a joke, and he sold his 10 out way too much. but at least mallet has seen the error and will now play a recognized scrummie, pity that it was possibly their best chance to put one over the english as 4 or their 5 tries came from italian mistakes…..
6 nations is poor in comparison to southern hemisphere comps, but as you say, that game plan seems to win matches in world cups. i think the southern teams dont like playing their ‘winning’ game plan and try to adopt a more conservative, forward bashing, approach come world cup that they havent been playing for the previous 3 seasons, so they come up short….
but i may be wrong in all accounts…haha
