If the Boks are serious, they need to realise that Brian Habana is not playing well and should thus drop him and rather opt for Jaque Fourie on the wing or Jongi Nokwe. There is no doubting that Habana is one of the greatest wingers in the game today but on current form he has not done a lot to be called the best winger in the world.
When a player is playing so badly, it is advisable to drop them and give them time to look at themselves in the mirror and hopefully they will come back a better player. Now if you allow Habana to continue playing the way he is he will think that he is untouchable, that no matter how poorly I play, I will still wear the Bok jursey. If I were Fourie or Nokwe I would be upset!
But now I am hearing that Habana is going to start against England even though they have not announced the squad yet. Bad call if you ask me. Give other players a chance if one is playing badly. What do you think, should Habana be dropped or not?

Form is temporary, class if permanent. Habana is class. I would not agree with dropping him, especially not against England simply because the poms have a backline that could potentially be dangerous. While Habana is not anywhere near his best, he still brings other aspects to the game such as defence, high work rate and most of all experience. He is the type of player that can still pull off anything at anytime and I would not be surprised if he goes and scores a brace against the poms. He is the type of player that can just bounce back with a stormer of a game.

Guru, you just said exactly what I was hoping you will say!! I agree that class is permanent and form is temporary but in Habana’s case, the form he is in is shocking!! You can not continue playing with him with the way he is messing up. Yes he has the ability to just spark a piece of magic but i bet you, give him another 80 minutes against the Poms and he is not going to score. he is off form and he needs to go back to the drawing board.
I remember back in school we had a term we refered a terrible player as being “The Tuckshop”! Habana is your tuckshop!!!!!

Let’s meet here again after the England game sir, I am sure you will have some apologies for Sir Bryan Habana after his class has prevailed yet again.
