As I had predicted, the Sharks won today but I was off with my scoreline prediction. I have to take my hat off to Guru for saying it was going to be a close game. But things could have been different if Ruan Pienaar and Frans Steyn had not had an off day with the boot.

In all fairness, the Sharks deserved to win todays game and were clearly the better of the two teams. One just had to see the names that were in the Sharks starting lineup before kickoff and also taking a look at the Sharks bench which boasted Springboks. On paper the Sharks were by far the better team and they took that ‘team on paper’ and delivered the goods on the field.

Watching the game on Super Sport, I was not impressed at all with the loss of transmission in the first half which meant that we missed the first try scored by Pienaar. How can Super Sport mess up like this on the day of the final? Okay, I will reserve me views on Super Sport for another post as I have a lot to say about them after this weekend!

Back to the game, tries from Ruan Pienaar and Frans Steyn coupled with conversions by Pienaar and Freddie Michalak sealed a 14-9 win for the Sharks. The Bulls 9 points all came from the boot of Morne Steyn with 3 of them coming from a a superb drop goal.

As I write this now I am thinking of what my moment of the game was but really, nothing stood out for me of great mention. Maybe something amazing caught your eye over the 80 minutes. Do let us know what your moment of the match was.

Congrats to the Sharks.
